Trailer Fire Tackled in New York

Crews found a double-wide trailer home heavily involved.

Under the command of Captain Michael Ford,  an aggressive interior attack was attempted but crews were quickly driven out by deteriorating conditions.

Fire Chief Tracy Chawgo gave orders for a defensive attack. The bulk of the fire was knocked within 20 minutes.

However crews remained on scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots. The home was a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid tankers responded from Oxford, South New Berlin, and MountUpton fire Departments the Chenango county bureau of fire was also on scene to assist.

The Oxford emergency squad also provided an ambulance for standby  at the scene. The Red Cross was contacted to help with placement of the family.
