Cargo Plane Clips Sign, Rolls Onto Grass
A cargo plane landing at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on October 18th ended up in the grass on the southwest end of the airport.
The Shorts Skyvan, with a crew of two, was arriving from the Bahamas just before 1 p.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, the turbo-prop aircraft grazed an airport taxiway sign then rolled into a grassy swale along Runway 9-Right.
