The Gastonia Fire Department responded to the intersection of South York Rd. and West Second Avenue to an overturned vehicle wreck with two people trapped.
The roof of the vehicle was cut open to remove the patients.
The intersection remained closed as crews repaired a broken power pole and downed lines in the street.
