Va. Firefighters Tackle House Fire

At approx 12a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, the first of what would turn out to be the second-alarm townhouse fires in the Herndon area was dispatched in the 13000 block of Ashnut Lane in the Herndon area.Units were advised enroute that dispatch was reciving multiple call reporting heavy fire from the first and second floors of the three-story townhouse.Engine and Tower 436 crews reported  heavy fire from all levels. An inital attack was made into the structure.

Units were advised enroute that dispatch was reciving multiple call reporting heavy fire from the first and second floors of the three-story townhouse.

Engine and Tower 436 crews reported  heavy fire from all levels. An inital attack was made into the structure.

Command was set up and the request for a second-alarm all with an all evacuation tone was sounded.

The fire was brought under control by a master stream from TWR 436. Units were on scene in excess of an hour. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
