Webster, NY ---- A call came in around 9:00 PM on Wednesday March 12 2003 for smoke coming from a Pizza Shop. A few blocks away, the Union Hill FD responded and Webster FD automatic mutual aid was also dispatched.

Units arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of a single story multiple business store front. Ground level search and rescue teams found little first floor fire. When vent crews opened the roof smoke turned to fire. Additional manpower was called in from Lincoln, Ontario and West Webster FD's.

Problems with frozen hydrants made water supply a slight issue, but enough five inch was laid to keep things flowing. Quick work was made with multiple ground lines, two ladder pipes and deck guns.

The fire was brought under control in and extinguished by 10:00 PM. The center and west end of the building were total losses, but the Pizza Shop suffered only major water and smoke damage.

No injuries were reported.
