Derby CT Firefighters Extricate One From Vehicle

Approx. 2:30AM 2/4/03 Derby Fire and Storm Ambulance & Rescue personnel were dispatched to a reported MVA with occupants trapped and the vehicle on fire.

The vehicle went through the side barrier of a bridge over Route 8 Southbound, then struck some treetops and fell onto the highway below.

One occupant was trapped and one had to be extricated.

Both were taken to Bridgeport Hospital's Trauma center.

A small vehicle fire necessitated the rapid extricaion of one of the patients.
