Louisiana School Bus Accident Sends Three Children to the Hospital

At approximately 7:30 AM on February 11, 2005, an Ascension Parish School bus carrying five children and a school employee aid was involved in a three-vehicle accident in St. Amant at the corner of George Lambert and Gold Place Road.

At approximately 7:30 AM on February 11, 2005, an Ascension Parish School bus carrying five children and a school employee aid was involved in a three-vehicle accident in St. Amant at the corner of George Lambert and Gold Place Road.

The accident sent three of the Carver Primary School children to local hospital St. Elizabeth in Gonzales where their injuries appeared to be minor, according to St. Amant Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

The third vehicle involved in the accident was also carrying an infant child who was retrained in a child car seat. LeBlanc stated that the infant child appeared to be in good condition as well.

The St. Amant Fire Department along with it's vehicle Rescue Team responded to the accident with ten members. The Acadian Ambulance responded with three ground units.
