White Settlement, Texas Firefighters Battle House Blaze

Units arrived to find fire showing and heavy smoke coming from a bedroom in the southwest corner of the residence.

At approximately 3 AM December 12th, the White Settlement Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located at 817 Saddle Road.

C2 Jack Bell was first on and immediately declared this to be a working fire.

C1 Jimmy Burnett arrived and established incident command.

Pump 3 was the first truck on and made entry through the front door.

Fireman Brian Hekele, Lt. Craig Slovak, and Lt. Tim Rawlings worked their way back to the fire with the big booster.

Mike Collins was engineer on Pump 3.

Pump 1 made the scene and was ordered to lay a line to a hydrant approximately 500 ft away.

Quint 1 and Utility 1 also responded with full crews.

The fire was declared to be under control about 15 minutes after the initial interior attack began.

Firemen overhauled the scene for about 90 minutes.

The home received considerable damage from fire and smoke.

The 3 residents, which were displaced by the fire, all escaped unharmed.

However firemen could not resuscitate a cat that did not make it out.

Residents stated they had a water leak in a wall that had been leaking on the electrical wiring adjacent to the bedroom.
