Firefighters Respond To Second Set Fire At Charlotte, North Carolina Home

Charlotte firefighters again responded to a large house on fire at 1600 Queens Road West where a home previously damaged by arson on November 21, 2004 was set blaze for a second time.

Charlotte, N.C -- Charlotte firefighters again responded to a large house on fire at 1600 Queens Road West where a home previously damaged by arson on November 21, 2004 was set blaze for a second time.

A neighbor stepped outside to walk their dog and noticed smoke in the area than quickly called Charlotte Fire Communications at 2:26 am Christmas Eve morning.

This second alarm incident brought over 55 firefighters along with the Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force to the scene.

Heavy fire conditions quickly consumed what was left of this Myers Park home. The Charlotte Fire Department Incident Commander put two fire companies into service with hose lines to protect as large home nearby from the intense flames.

The home next door along with a car parked in the driveway suffered minor exterior fire damage.

There were no injuries reported throughout the incident.

As the sun came up on Christmas Eve morning, 2 ladder Companies continued to flow water from their raised pipes to knock down flames still burning as the house was too dangerous to send firefighters inside for final extinguishment.

Charlotte Fire Investigators waited for daylight and safer working conditions to try to dig through the destruction debris and work to determine how this fire was sent.

This fire has been determined to have been intentionally set. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at 911, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. A reward is offered for information about this fire.
