Emergency Crews Respond to Fatal Small Plane Crash on Arizona Golf Course

On Saturday, September 18, 2004, at approximately 7:15 AM, Mesa Fire Department's BC203, E208, E216, Foam 208, L214 responded to a report of a small plane crash on a golf course.

Upon BC203's arrival he found a 2-seater experimental aircraft crashed and fully engulfed in flames.
Aircraft had just taken off from Mesa, Arizona's Falcon Field airport when it experienced engine problems, declared an emergency, and then crashed on a golf course a 1/4 mile from the airport. Firefighters used foam from an ARFF crash truck to extinguish the fire. Killed were the pilot and his passenger.
