On August 12, 2004, at approximate 7:10 AM, Newark Fire Department transmitted the box for a fire in a vacant house on South 18th Street between 17th & 18th Avenues.
Upon arrival, Engine 18 reported heavy fire from the second floor of a vacant, 2.5-story, wood frame home.
DC4 arrived and transmitted the All Hands.
Two lines were stretched to the interior as Ladder 11 and 9 opened the roof.
The fire was quickly knocked down on the second floor. Fire extended to the third floor and cockloft and was knocked down with interior lines.
Four Engines and 2 Ladders, Rescue 1 operated on scene, bringing the blaze under control in 20 minutes. No injuries were reported on scene.
