Pennsylvania Firefighters Fight Stubborn Blaze

Crews from multiple agenices went to work finding a truck on fire inside the building.

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Tuesday March 17, The East Hempfield Township Police Department were alerted to a burgler alarm at Freightliner Of Lancaster at 1675 Rohrerstown Road in East Hempfield Township, Penn. Police arrived and reported to Lancaster County Communications of a fire inside the building.

At 9:40 p.m.,Lancaster County Communications transmitted BOX Alarm 23 with reports of smoke and explosions with-in the building. Chief 23 took the command as heavy smoke was showing from all sides of the large commercial structure with multiple explosions happening inside.

Crews from multiple agencies went to work finding a truck on fire inside the building. While working to contain the blaze with multiple lines, crews found fire running the roof line with heavy smoke issuing as they opened it up.

Crews worked for about two hours to bring the bulk of the fire -- and many hidden hot spots -- under control. The roof proved to be difficult to open as it was constructed with many layers of materials. No injuries were reported as crews worked into the early morning hours to completely contain the fire.
