New York Firefighters Battle Flames

Just after noon on Jan. 6, members from the Selkirk, Elsmere, Delmar, Slingerlands and Coeymans Fire Departments responded to 246 Maple Avenue for a reported structural fire.

First arriving units reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of a wood frame private dwelling. The Town's FAST team was called as was mutual aide.

Crews had the fire under control in less than an hour, but had extensive overhaul to complete.

Fire investigators were on the scene for several hours trying to determine a cause. The homeowners made it out safely.
