On Jan. 4, Fallowfield Township Volunteer Fire Company of Washington County, Pa. responded to a two vehicle accident with one trapped and multiple injuries on westbound I-70.

Crews extricated the trapped patient after about 15 minutes from a vehicle that had rolled several times, by popping both doors, performing a third door conversion, and cutting two seat backs to free the patient.

The trapped patient was flown from the scene to a level one trauma center in Pittsburgh due to the extent of her injuries.

The two patients in the second vehicle were transported by ground to a local hospital.

Crews remained on scene for about one hour.
