On Jan. 1 at 11:16 p.m., the City of Rolla Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a fire in the building at the American Motor Inn located at 1810 North Highway 63 in Rolla, Missouri.
Upon arrival, fire crews found a large amount of fire in the second floor in the rear of the building. They attacked the fire with 1 3/4" hose lines, but were unable to contain the fire due to its expansion into the attic.

Using an exterior attack with large diameter hoses, master streams, and aerial devices, they began the process of extinguishing this fire.

In addition, emergency crews with the Rolla Municipal Utilities, American Red Cross, Rolla Street Department, and MFA were utilized at the fire scene.
