Connecticut Firefighters Respond to Blaze

Cause of the fire appears to be accidental.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 15, the Ansonia Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire at 530 Main Street.

Ansonia Engine 6 was the first engine on scene reporting heavy fire in two stores of a one-story strip mall with fire showing through the roof. The fire had involved the Ansonia Diner as well as the Family Farm Superstore.

Ansonia Assistant Fire Chief Michael Eheman reported that there were no fire department injuries, and the cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
