On Monday Nov. 12, at around noon, Boston firefighters responded to a report of a building fire.
First due companies found the first floor fully involved with heavy fire conditions. Firefighters were notified that two children were still inside on the third floor of the triple-decker.
A second alarm was immediately requested. The first due engine companies stretched a line in the front door as a truck company went to the third floor to look for the two victims. Crews located both children within minutes on the third floor. They were taken to awaiting EMS personnel.
All companies went to work battling fire on all three floors. Fire crews had been working on the roof for about a half an hour when they became briefly trapped by flames. A third alarm was then requested bringing an additional two engines and two ladder companies to the fire.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes. Close to 100 firefighters worked at this three alarm fire for almost three and a half hours. Fourteen people were transported to the hospital during the fire.
