California Firefighters Respond to MVA

San Marcos, California firefighters responded to possible vehicle off the freeway onto the frontage road. As San Marcos Truck 1471 arrived on scene they found a pickup that had come off a freeway and into light pole.

They found a lone male occupant partially ejected and in need of extrication. They determined the extrication would be a lenghty one and called for an air ambulance to the scene.

Firefighters used numerous power tools including hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the victim in about 30 minutes. He sustained facial injuries and various lower extremity fractures. He was transported to a local hospital via a Mercy Air in serious condition.
