Shortly after 5 a.m. on Sept. 13 crews from Warrenton Fire Protection District in Warrenton, Mo. were dispatched to a fire at an oil company.
First-due companies encountered flames through the roof of the 30-foot tall building.
The fire spread rapidly due to the large amount of motor oil, power steering fluid, cleaning solvents, and paper products being stored in the warehouse portion of the building.
Three alarms were struck bringing in multiple engine and ladder companies from Warren, St.Charles, and Lincoln counties. A pumper task force and extra foam companies were dispatched from St.Louis County.
Fire Department Haz-Mat crews were on the scene monitoring smoke conditions and attempting to control run-off. The fire was under control in about five hours and the Missouri State Fire Marshall was called in to investigate the blaze.
One firefighter suffered a back injury.
