Firefighters on St. Simons Island in Georgia responded to a house fire in early February.
A photographer who happened to be in the area said he followed smoke until he got to the site of the blaze.
He and a neighbor were able to rescue a small dog from the back yard before the billowing smoke which was engulfing the small wood frame home became a problem. He reported seeing a firefighter smashing in a window.
It took six firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control. The house was all but destroyed, but firefighters were able to prevent flames from spreading to surrounding homes.
