Aug. 30, 2007

On August 23, firefighters in Philipsburg Quebec were called to the Brotherhood Christian Academy located near Canadian customs. The blaze began when a building next to the academy caught fire. That building was destroyed.

Crews from Engine 1 reported heavy smoke showing upon their arrival. Firefighters from two other Canadian departments, as well as three Vermont fire departments offered assistance.

Firefighters saved the Academy and a building next to the burning building. About 50 firefighters from Quebec and Vermont fought the blaze. The fire was knocked down in approx.45 minutes, then overhauling began. A hole was cut in the roof for ventilation.
