MVA in Colorado with Heavy Damage and Extrication

AirLife took over patient care and transported to a local trauma center.

Just before 1500hrs on Tuesday, MetCom alerted South Metro & Littleton Firefighters to a reported head-on accident with one person trapped on Highway 85 south of Titan Road. While units were still enroute an airborne stand-by was requested from AirLife Denver. First due South Metro Engine & Medic 40 arrived to find two vehicles with moderate/heavy damage and one it's roof.

After a size up of the incident one person was found trapped & injured in the overturned car and the air stand-by was changed to a chopper go. The crew from Littleton 16 assisted 40 in quickly extricating the trapped party and moving them to the back of a waiting medic unit for a short transport to the landing zone. AirLife took over patient care and transported to a local trauma center.
