Charlotte Firefighters Respond to Blaze

Firefighters were able to control the blaze in less than fifteen minutes

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, Charlotte, N.C. firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at the Sir Johns Hill condominiums near the South Park area of Charlotte.

Firefighters were met with heavy fire and smoke conditions upon their arrival, but were able to control the blaze in less than fifteen minutes.

The fire has been ruled accidental and caused an estimated $20,000 in damages. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, although one cat did perish at this incident.

One adult was displaced, but was able to access temporary shelter without assistance. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control division was able to respond and support the home owner as she was dealing with the tragic loss of her pet.
