On Thursday, Oct. 30 at 12:35 a.m., a box was transmitted for a dwelling fire at 738 Walnut St. in Camden City, N.J.
Engine Company 8's crew found a two-story middle of the row, ordinary construction with heavy fire conditions in the rear.
Battalion 1 arrived and struck the all hands adding the second chief and the third engine company. Squad 7's crew secured a water supply while personnel from Engine 8 went in operation with a 1 3/4 -inch hand line. Rescue 1's team performed searches with negative results.
Battalion 1 reported an outside fire with extension into the dwelling and fire conditions on the first and second floor with heavy smoke throughout.
Camden City EMS was called to the scene for one occupant who stated she was living there. She suffered smoke inhalation.
There were no injuries.
The Camden City Fire Marshals Office has the fire under investigation.
