Delaware Firefighters Battle Vehicle Fire

The firefighters had to perform overhaul in the back of the truck due to several pieces of construction tools and materials.

On Oct. 21 at 2:04 p.m., Sussex County Emergency Operations Center dispatched Station 85 (Milton) for a vehicle fire on Coastal Highway south of the Broadkill Bridge.

Assistant Fire Chief J.R. Clark found a vehicle fully involved and established 85 command. The crew of Engine 85-4 deployed two attack lines and a foam line to extinguish the fire.

The firefighters had to perform overhaul in the back of the truck due to several pieces of construction tools and materials. They cleared the scene at 2:48 p.m. Units on scene included Command 85, Engine 85-4, Rescue 85, Engine 85-5, 85 Fire Police, and Delaware State Police.
