At 1759 on May 11, the Latham Fire Department was dispatched as well as one mutual aid engine from the Boght fire company to a bus fire on Route 9 at the entrance to Latham Farms.
Car 26 arrived to find a CDTA transit bus with moderate fire involvement. All persons were believed to be out of the vehicle, and the fuel source was determined to be diesel.
Due to the location and rush hour traffic conditions, all lanes were closed for the safety of operating personnel. Personnel aboard Engine 416 initiated the attack, while the officer in Car 28 assumed the operations role.
The crew from Engine 400 from Boght provided additional water to engine 416 and assisted with a search. Two additional engines responded from Latham. All companies returned to service at 1833hrs.
