A three-alarm fire occurred in Somersworth, N.H. on May 5. This Mill Building was part of the former Great Falls Bleachery and Dye Works facility on Main Street.
The box alarm was struck just after 7 p.m. for this 150' x 50' structure which took 10 surrounding departments to bring the blaze under control by 9:47 p .m.
This is the second building on the property to be destroyed by fire in four years. Engine 1 arrived on scene first. Lt Marc Vallaincourt reported the structure was fully involved.
The crew from Truck 1 set up their master stream on the south side of the building. Fire Chief Donald Messier, who assumed command of the incident, said it was too early to say what caused the blaze.
