East Orange, N.J. Firefighters Tackle Blaze

April 30, 2007
Upon arrival, heavy smoke was showing from the house.

On April 25, East Orange Fire Department was dispatched to 213 North Park St. for a house fire. Upon arrival, Engine 3 had heavy smoke pushing from side A of an occupied house. It had spread to an adjoining structure.

DC Daly transmitted the Signal 11, and struck the second alarm. Interior lines were advanced into both fire buildings as trucks opened up. Heavy fire was venting out sides B,C, and D of the main building.

Access to the attic of the main fire building was limited to a push up ceiling. After firefighters evacuated, a ladder pipe operation was set up.

The fire is under investigation by the Essex County Arson Squad and the East Orange Arson Squad.
