Oxford, NJ Firefighters Battle Old Mill Fire

At one point , there was fire visible from every window.

Wednesday, March 21 was a long one for Oxford Township firefighters who were dispatched to an old mill type building on Main Street for a fire. Arriving units found a three-story 200' X 300' building with heavy fire showing. A single-story structure also was burning.

Since the buildings were being demolished, command called for reinforcements for the long defensive night ahead. Many master streams were utilized. Water sources came from hydrants and a stream.

At one point, there was fire shooting out every window and the roof. Many mutual aid companies were dispatched to the fire as well as to stand by.

The fire is being investigated by the Warren County Fire Marshal, Warren County Prosecutors' office and Oxford Police.
