On June 4, 2004, sparks from a passing fright train near the railroad community of Keene set off two grass and light brush fires in Kern County, California.

County units, aided by waterdrops, engine protection rigs, a bulldozer team and handcrews, helped bring the fires under control.

No structures were lost and no injuries were incurred battling the 30 acres of wildfire.
