Wilmington, Delaware -- Tuesday 22 June 2004 --Wilmington Fire Department Units were dispatched at 0649 hours for a building fire at 4th and Scott Street, Wilmington. Upon his arrival Battalion Chief Cunningham and the first due companies found fire and smoke emitting from the liquor store that is located on the 1st floor front of the three story corner structure.
The fire was knocked down and contained to the first floor in approximately twenty (20) minutes. The fire building is described as a 3 story, corner building with apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors. This building suffered fire and smoke damage to the liquor store, with smoke extension to the second floor. Twenty-two (22) Wilmington Firefighters, three (3) Engine Companies, one (1) Ladder Companies and a Rescue Company brought the fire scene under control in approximately 20 minutes at 0708 hours.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
