Who says its not dry, windy and cold, the right combinations for BRUSH FIRES. The HVFD continues to fights these types of fires, due to these conditions. Saturday night around 8:30 PM we were called out to Beverly Lane in Dugspur to a fire that got started from an outside trash can and burned about three acres before it was contained.
Sunday afternoon we were called out to 610 Fieldview Road in Woodlawn to another brush fire that started from ashes from a wood stove, the land owners did use precautions they let the five gallon bucket sit over night before dumping them out. But the dryness of the brush was weaker then the hot coals that larked in the ashes.
No injuries or property loss was reported.
