New Jersey Nudist Camp Burns

The Mays Landing Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to a fire on Sunny Avenue.

A three alarm fire leveled several structures of the former Sunshine Park Nudist Camp in the early morning hours on January 15th. The Mays Landing Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to a fire on Sunny Avenue, and command arrived to find heavy fire in the wooded area approx. 1/4 mile down Sunny Avenue.

Upon investigation, it was discovered several structures were burning, including a large banquet hall and several homes. A tanker task force was requested to the scene to supply water. Thirteen fire companies responded to the call as well as Atlantic County OEM. The fire took several hours to extinguish, and the cause in under investigation.
