Firefighters Battle Home Blaze, Heat in Sorrento, Louisiana

Fire departments from throughout the parish responded Monday to a fire in Sorrento, Louisiana. The blaze was reported at 2:29 PM, Monday when a vehicle under the carport apparently caught fire.

The entire house soon erupted into flames and the Sorrento Fire Department was joined by departments from St. Amant, Fifth Ward, Seventh Dist., Gonzales & French Settlement.

No one was injured in the blaze, but heat was a big problem for local firefighters as Acadian Ambulance was called out to assist the firefighters.
