At approximately 11:45 this morning, firefighters from Pelham Manor, NY were dispatched to a house fire on Pelhamdale Ave. Upon arrival, car 2361 reported smoke showing from the roof and called for additional units from Pelham to respond. Engine 2 stretched two hand lines into service on an interior attack. Car 2361 also called for one ladder to respond from New Rochelle to assist in fighting the blaze. Crews then opened the roof and were faced with heavy fire from the attic. At this point, all crews were ordered out of the building and an exterior attack began. The fire was declared under control around 2 pm.
Apparatus that responded included Engines 1 and 2, Tower Ladder 3, Cars 2361 and 2363 from Pelham Manor, Engine 4, Ladder 2, Rescue 45, and Car 2351 from Pelham, Ladder 12 and Car 2302 from New Rochelle. Numerous volunteers from both Pelham Manor and Pelham also responded. Engine 206 and Ladder 62 from Mount Vernon covered Pelham Fire Headquarters.
