Suspicious Leak From Truck at Weigh Station Causes Kentucky HazMat Crews to Respond

On May 23, 2004, the Laurel County, Kentucky Weapons of Mass Destruction Region 11 Task Force responded to an incident at the 32 mile marker/weigh station on I-75 South.

While the truck had pulled in to be weighed at the scales, station employees spotted an unknown substance leaking from the rear of the trailer. The HazMat team was then notified to respond.
The team responded and made entry to check on the extent of the leak.
The driver advised what he was transporting was old oil from paint and some crates containing rags.
