WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MERCER)--Washington Township firefighters extinguished a bus fire at the NJ Turnpike, Exit 7A Toll Plaza on Friday May 28, 2004. Firefighters were called to the scene at 11:40 a.m. and upon arrival found the back half of a tour bus well involved.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire using two 1 3/4 hand lines. Even though the bus was fully occupied at the time no injuries were reported in the fire.

The cause of the fire appears to have been a mechanical problem with the bus's rear brake system.
