Firefighters battled a two story apartment building fire on West Main Street in Pennsgrove, New Jersey on Sunday April 25th at 12:25 pm. The fire left twenty-one people homeless.
One occupant was severely burned over 60 percent of her body. She was rescued from a second floor apartment by local police officers.
Eleven fire departments from Salem and Gloucester Counties battled the blaze for over 4 hours before it was placed under control.
Firefighters abandoned interior operations due to deteriorating conditions in the attic space. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
