NY Firefighters Battle 4 Alarm Warehouse Blaze

At approx 11 a.m. on Friday May 14th the Wappingers Falls Fire Department was alerted for a Structure Fire in the Market St Industrial Park.

At approx 11 a.m. on Friday May 14th the Wappingers Falls Fire Department was alerted for a Structure Fire in the Market St Industrial Park, Wappingers Falls Command arrived and reported 1 large warehouse heavily involved with a 2nd as an exposure.

Within a very short period of time the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Alarms were sounded bringing 9 Departments to the scene and many more on standby at various locations. At the height of the Fire there were 4 Aerial Master Streams in operation and several Engine's drafting water from nearby Wappingers Creek.

Assisting Wappingers Falls at the scene were units from Hughsonville, New Hackensack, Chelsea, Rombout, Arlington, New Hamburg, Lagrange, Village of Fishkill, Roosevelt and Union Vale. Alamo, Metro Care and Mobile Life Support Services assisted with EMS/Rehab at the scene. The Dutchess County Fire Investigation & Hazmat teams were also on scene along with numerous Law Enforcement Agencies.

The cause of the fire which heavily damaged 2 warehouses is under Investigation by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Unit, no injuries were reported.
