Middletown, New York Firefighters Battle Three-Alarm Warehouse Fire

At around 5 p.m. on Wednesday May 5, 2004 City of Middletown firefighters were alerted for a structure fire at 89 Dolson Avenue in the area of Republic Plaza.

At around 5 p.m. on Wednesday May 5, 2004 City of Middletown firefighters were alerted for a structure fire at 89 Dolson Avenue in the area of Republic Plaza.

Units enroute were advised of numerous calls to the 9-1-1 Center. Numerous County Units were also reporting a large plume of smoke visible for miles.

Middletown Command, Chief Ralph Parenti arrived on scene and reported the fire was located at the old Agway Plant and reported building fully involved. A second alarm was transmitted bringing a FAST Truck from Goshen to the scene and several relocations to city firehouses.

The Mechanicstown Fire Department responded with 1 engine to assist in supplying large diameter hose laid into scene from Dolson Avenue to supply Truck 1's master stream.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene, his condition appeared minor.
