Two Escape Florida House Fire

Ocala firefighters stretched two 1 3/4-inch hoselines into the structure.

Two occupants escaped a mid-morning fire that damaged an apartment house in Ocala, FL, on Oct. 7.

Crews were dispatched to NE 25th Street at 8:49 a.m. and when they arrived three minutes later, they found heavy smoke and fire from the one-story structure that was subdivided into two apartments.

Firefighters stretched two 1 3/4-inch hoselines into the structure and the fire was placed under control in 22 minutes.

A woman and her friend escaped from one unit of the units. The second apartment was unoccupied at the time.

A total of 18 personnel responded to the scene with three engines, one tower ladder, one squad and one rescue along with a battalion chief and safety officer.
