Connecticut Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Blaze

Hartford, Conn. firefighters were called to a two-alarm fire on Oct. 3 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The structure was located in Sunshine Laundry County at 739 Maple Avenue in the city's south end. The crew of Engine 10 reported heavy smoke and fire showing on arrival.

Within five minutes of the fire department's arrival, they had a partial building collapse of the B side. On the D side, they had an exposure of a three-story occupied brick that they had to evacuate.

They used three tower ladders and two deck guns to control the fire. Two firefighters received minor injuries.
