On Aug. 11 at 6:30 a.m. a trash truck driver rang the bell at the house of Engine 10/Ladder 2 stating there was a fire up the block.
The full box was transmitted for 9th and Fairview for a dwelling fire.
Engine 10's crew arrived and reported a two-story wood frame dwelling with heavy fire showing from the second floor.
Battalion 1 arrived and struck the all hands at 876 Fairview Street.
The crews of Ladder 2 and Rescue 1 worked to force entry into the dwelling as Engine 10's personnel stretched a one-and-three-quarter inch hand line. Ground ladders were placed as Engine 8 firefighters secured a water supply.
Companies reported heavy fire conditions on the second floor. Two one-and-three-quarter inch hand lines were stretched to the fire floor as another was placed in the exposure which had smoke showing from the windows.
Searches of the building were negative. The fire was placed under control without any injuries to firefighters. The Camden City Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.
