At 7:30 pm on Tuesday, June 24, Rochester, N.Y. firefighters were alerted for a house fire on Elizabeth Place off of Miller Street in the northeast part of the city. As companies were en route, they were advised of numerous calls. First unit on scene reported a vacant 1.5 story frame very heavily involved. Soon after units arrived a second alarm was transmitted.
Firefighters initially mounted an exterior attack, once the main body of the fire had been knocked down crews advanced a hose line into the house so crews could begin overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Rochester Fire Department Arson Investigation Unit.
There were no injuries reported.
