Georgia Firefighters Conduct Extrication Drill

There was one patient pronounced dead at the scene.

An extrication drill was conducted by the Augusta, Ga. Fire Department on Saturday, May 3 at the Whole Life Ministires.

The drill was done in conjunction with Richmond County Sheriff's Office and Capital City EMS and the MCG (Medical College of Ga.) Health Care Systems.

The drill simulated a two-car rollover accident involving multiple patients. The first patient was transported by helicopter and another two were transported by ambulance. There was one patient pronounced dead at the scene.

The training exercise was conducted to show this year's high school graduates that drinking and driving do not mix. Augusta Fire Companies responding were Engine Co. 8, Engine Co. 9, Ladder Co. 2 and Rescue 2.

The Medical College of Georgia provided the helicopter.
