April 11 - Approx 00:30 hrs, Companies 61, 40, & 55 were dispatched to 1622 Peach St for a building fire. Police went on location advising a vacant house at the end of the street, fully involved. SQ 61 arrived on location under the command of 61-9B, A. Barrowclough. 61-9B ordered exterior attack only and had firefighters begin to set the boom up. Crews pulled a handline to the back of the building to start an attack in the rear. 40-1 arrived and laid into the Squrt. Three more handlines were placed into action at different points around the house as well as a deck gun, 61-2, and a tower.
61 also arrived on location. UC-9, J. Smith, arrived and assumed command. About an hour or so into the call, UC-9 made the decision to put Tower 61 into action.
