OCALA, FLA. -- The Ocala International Airport control tower notified Ocala Fire Rescue of an aircraft crash last week.
Firefighters found a twin poston Cessna on fire in a field off airport property.
One person was killed and another was transported to a hospital. Several bystanders who initially attempted to assist at the scene suffered smoke inhalation and were evaluated by paramedics. One bystander was transported to the hospital.
Sixteen firefighters staffing six fire apparatus including the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (A.R.F.F.) truck responded.
The FAA is investigating.
