Rochester police say three students and two adults were injured and taken to the hospital after a school bus and SUV collided in Rochester Tuesday morning.
It happened at the intersection of State and Allen streets around 9:15 a.m.
Rochester City School District leaders say the bus was taking 14 elementary school students to School No. 2 at its normal drop off time. Police said the bus had a green light and was crossing State Street when it was T-boned by the SUV, that apparently ran the red light. The bus spun around and flipped over, landing on its side.
Police said three students on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the school bus, a 62-year-old woman, and the passenger in the SUV were also transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
