Ohio firefighters battled a early-morning house fire in Casstown on May 21.
A neighbor called the Miami County, Ohio 911 dispatch center around 5:45 a.m. and reported that his house next store was on fire.
Fire was blazing through the roof on arrival and the incident commander, Lieutenant 2 of the Casstown Fire Department, decided on a defensive strategy until the structure could be properly evaluated.
Casstown Engine 4 arrived shortly after and utilized a 2-inch hoseline to tackle the fire. Firefighters from Christiansburg, Fletcher, New Carlisle and Tipp City responded to assist.
Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to perform overhaul on the rubble.
The home was unoccupied while remodeling work was being done and the fire appears to have started in the garage.
