Nov. 24, 2012

On Nov. 10 a dwelling fire was reported at 53 W. Merchant St. in Audubon.

Dispatchers received a call that around 4 p.m. that stated there was a house on fire. A second call indicated that it looked bad.

Command arrived and reported heavy fire conditions from Division D of a one-story, single family wood-frame dwelling and an all-hands box was struck.

Audubon firefighters secured a water supply and went into operation with a 2 1/2-inch handline, followed by a backup line.

All occupants were out of the dwelling and accounted for and the truck company opened the roof as exterior crews worked to extinguish the fire located in the roof line.

The fire was knocked down and placed under control with no injuries to firefighters.
